Spokane Ballet Ensemble

The Spokane Ballet Ensemble (SBE), a non-profit organization, has enriched children’s lives for over 35 years by staging educational outreach ballets at Spokane area elementary schools. Approximately 2,000 children in four area schools experience the Ensemble’s engaging performances each year.

SBE performs an annual Community Performance Fundraiser for a local non-profit organization. This year, SBE donated food to the SCC pantry. SBE’s repertoire includes The Nutcracker, Les Patineurs, Coppelia, La Fille Mal Gardee, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Swan Lake Act 3, Peter and the Wolf, Alice in Wonderland and Paquita.

Former SBE dancers have gone on to professional ballet, theater and commercial careers dancing with companies such as the Pacific NW Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theater and the Disney Corporation. Some SBE dancers are now studying dance at universities nationwide and others are teaching dance across the country, as well as, here at the Dance Center of Spokane!

2023-34 season the Spokane Ballet Ensemble performed The Nutcracker and Act 3 of Swan Lake.

SBE School Performances

For over 35 years, SBE has been staging quality ballet performances at area elementary schools. Elementary school gymnasiums are transformed into theaters, complete with special flooring, backdrops, sound systems, wings, and lighting. SBE has performed for nearly every elementary school in the greater Spokane area, including some of the Coeur D’Alene schools.

For the 2024-25 season Spokane Ballet ensemble will be performing Paquita and La Fille Mal Gardee.

Community Performance Fundraiser

Community Performance Fundraisers for the Food Bank have been SBE’s mission for the past seven years. SBE performs an annual performance at a major theater venue for charity. These past years we have proudly contributed to Spokane’s Second Harvest Food Bank. w
